Optional CacheVault for Reliable Data Protection
The other latest technology is the CacheVault which applies NANDflash memory and a super capacitor. During normal write-backoperation, when a power failure occurs, CacheVault technologyautomatically transfers cached data from the DRAM cache to flashand stored for up to 3 years. Once power is restored, the data inthe NAND flash is copied back into cache until it can be flushed tothe disk drives. PIKE 2208 together with CacheVault, virtuallyeliminate hardware maintenance associated withBBU(battery-back-up), lower total cost of ownership over the lifeof the RAID card, and provide more environmentally friendly cacheprotection, all while maintaining optimal RAID performance.
